Paper Electronics Results

We had a great workshop by Natalie Freed on paper electronics. A lot of people showed up, but here are the pictures of the cool paper electronics from the event.

A lamp with a coin cell battery base

A cute little paper house

Tent with with a cutout scene shining through

Simple origami flower with LED for light.

We had quite a few projects involving programmable chips to for having multiple buttons and such. Here is one being made;

Natalie Freed will be doing a paper electronics workshop for our next Electronics Study Group on Wednesday 11/27/2013 from 7-10 pm.

Natalie is an ASU alumni who moved on to Personal Robots Group at the MIT Media Lab for her M.S. She is in town this week and wants to share her love of paper electronics with you HeatSync Labbers! Shell bring the bare necessities, but feel free to bring anything you want to incorporate. Surface mount components work especially well.

Please share our meetup page about it! Also here is the discussion about it if you have questions post here.

Top Secret Project

I've been given permission to share a photo of Taylor's Top Secret Project.

His color coded his jumper wires really stand out from other projects that I've seen. I've been forbidden from explaining which shade of red means what. If you attend the next Electronics Study Group Wednesday the 23rd he might just slip up and reveal critical details of his plan.

What are we up to?

Jerry had some debugging to do on a circuit for an R2D2 which he is building. We figured out which wire was placed incorrectly for the motor controller chip. Now he can move forward with his project.

I amplified my Arduino instrument I've been working on. Next I'm working to design a PCB and make a case for it.

We also showed someone the beginner Arduino examples.

If you have a project you want help with or want to get started in electronics don't wait until the next study group. I'm frequently at HeatSync Labs working on my plans to bring electrons to the masses.

Wednesday, September 25, 2013

Come out tonight to work on your projects or get started learning about electronics.

What's up with our group;
soldering solar powered lanterns
circuit debugging for an R2D2 project
an amp circuit for an Arduino instrument
PCB designing
making LED's light up

I will start getting some photos so we can show things off.

Next event 08/28

Our next event is Tomorrow 08/28/2013 from 7-10 pm. Come learn about electronics!

Also at HeatSync Labs:
I will be filling in and hosting Arduino Night is Wednesday 09/04
Hot Topics PCB edition on how to make printed circuit boards 09/19. I will be off working on robots, but you should check it out.
